We have decided to put GPS-to-GIS technology in the hands of our users. To accomplish this, we developed the UMS Mobile Suite - a set of applications designed to work hand-in-hand with SQL*CAD and UMS. This group of applications allows the user to gather plant information in the field, merge the information to the plant database, and automatically map the plant features.
 

Our data gathering technology uses a non-proprietary information storage format. This allows field data to be applied to a wide range of software products; in addition to our SQLCAD and UMS products.


The mobile portion of the product suite is designed to work with Trimble GeoXT series GPS receivers. These unique instruments combine a professional grade GPS receiver with a hand-held computer. The computer uses the Windows Mobile operating system - like any other Pocket PC. This gives users a wide range of available applications.
